Basque Nationalist Party PNV, Basque Socialist Party PSE-EE, Conservative Popular Party PP, Basque Nationalist Party EA, Basque Communist Party EB and Aralar have reached an agreement to summon a rally in Vitoria-Gasteiz to condemn the attack in Legutio (Álava) and have called citizens to attend it en masse.
Under the slogan "ETA ez Askatasuna-Por la Libertad ETA no" ("Against ETA, in favor of Freedom"), the rally will take place at seven in the evening at Virgen Blanca Square and will last from fifteen to twenty minutes.
In this event, two young men will read a communiqué which has been signed by the six political parties, though its content will not be revealed until the rally takes place.
The heads of these political parties have appeared at the press conference summoned at the office of Socialists in Vitoria-Gasteiz except Aralar, which has not been able to attend it.
The General Secretary of the Socialists in Alava Txarli Prieto; the President of PNV in this province, Iñaki Gerenabarrena; the President of PP in Álava, Alfonso Alonso; the coordinator of EB in this territory, José Miguel Fernández; and the member of the Executive of EA Patxi Martínez de Albeniz have appeared at the press conference.
Prieto has emphasized that the aim of this rally is to mobilize society in Alava against the Basque armed group ETA, in favor of freedom, and has underlined the unity achieved by political parties and the "generosity" of all to reach this consensus.
