Basque Government spokeswoman Miren Azkarate, said on Tuesday that deducing yesterday’s attack against two excavators in the Basque town of Hernani was against high-speed train works it is an“exaggerated idea” . The attack, which was claimed by the armed Basque group ETA, reached two excavators that belonged to a company working in the construction of the Basque high-speed train, the so-called ‘Basque Y’, although those two machines were not working on it.
She added that the armed group, which claimed responsibility for the attack, did not say it was against those works.
One kilo of ammonal
Each one of the devices placed in the excavators contained one kilo of ammonal, according to the Basque Interior Department. Both bombs exploded in the early morning of Monday.
