Deadlock at San Mames, but a result that was enough to keep Racing in the UEFA Cup places. Bilbao midfielder Markel Susaeta had the best chance of the match when shaved the post with a powerful drive in the first half.
The first minutes of the match Racing were more concentrated and had the control of the ball. However, Athletic Bilbao tried to equalize their strength.
After minute fifteen, Athletic Bilbao played the best three minutes of the match. There were clear opportunities but it was impossible to score any goals.
