ETA clams responsibility for four attacks in March and April

The armed Basque group ETA accused the Spanish Socialist Party PSOE and the Basque Nationalist Party PNV of wanting to “wipe out” the Basque leftist movement and claims responsibility for four attacks, according to a communiqué sent to Basque newspaper Gara.

The armed organization says that PSOE’s and PNV’s latest actions show “they want to impose a new autonomic pact”.

In accordance with this, they accuse Spain’s Prime Minister José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero and PNV of “wiping out” Basque leftist movement in order to “defuse fight for independence and to impose a new situation based on Spanish interests in the Basque Country.

The armed group claimed responsibility for the attacks against Socialist offices in Elgoibar and Bilbao and against relay stations of Azpeitia and Lapoblación.
