Athletic Club Bilbao defeated delegated Real Murcia in the in the 36th round of the Spanish league Wednesday.
The Basques fell behind to an early goal from Uruguayan striker Ivan Alonso but hit back for a win thanks to a goal from towering centre forward Fernando Llorente and a late effort from midfielder Igor Gabilondo.
The result leaves Athletic Club Bilbao 9th, 4 points from the position that leads to the Intertoto cup.
