The president of the ruling Basque Nationalist Party-PNV Iñigo Urkullu, has made some references about José Luis Bilbao (Basque Nationalist party PNV), the Head of the Biscay Provincial Government’s idea about Basque Country’s political future, which is going through a great agreement between nationalists and Basque socialist party PSE. He has said that the above agreement must go beyond government pacts at institutions and must deal with "basic structural matters". "The rest will be decided by the results of the autonomic elections", he has pointed out.

Urkullu has assured that members of his own party in the Basque government, Basque Nationalist party EA and Basque Communist party EB "question" the tripartite’s formula and has wondered "why public opinion is shocked about the rallies in Bilbao".

EA

The minister of Justice, Employment and Social Security of the Basque Government, Joseba Azkarraga, has defended today the validity of the tripartite government and has said that "the only thing which is expired in this country is the speech given by PSE and the Head of the Biscay Provincial Government, José Luis Bilbao".

EB

Communist EB spokesman, Mikel Arana, has stated that Basque premier’s commitment to the "principles and values of the tripartite" is still in force and has declared that he does not agree with José Luis Bilbao’s opinions at all.

"We understand that when Bilbao says that the tripartite is expired he also considers the tripartite members are expired too, and among them Basque Prime Minister is also included", the leader of EB has assured.

PSE-EE

The Secretary-General of the Socialist Party of the Basque Country , Patxi López has insited today that the tripartite is "exhausted", as José Luis Bilbao stated yesterday.
