Four activists of the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) got undressed in front of the British Embassy in Madrid to protest the slaughter of bears to make the traditional hats of the Royal Guard of that country.

The activists, two women and two men, kept their pants and panties on, and stayed lying on a British flag for about 40 minutes.

With their face covered with bear masks, the activists demanded to stop using fur to make the hats for the Infantry of the British Royal Guard. They displayed two banners that read "Save the bear" and "Murdered for the Royal Guard."

Another PETA activist that accompanied the protesters, Cristina Bosom, explained for the news agency Efe that to make an only fur hat the whole skin of a black bear is needed. These bears are hunted in Canada.

Bosom added that the organisation has requested to use synthetic fur on several occasions, but the request wasn't successful.
