Bomb explodes outside court of Basque town causing serious damage

The bomb was placed by ETA and caused serious damage to the building. It also damaged around twenty cars parked nearby. Moreover, some hooded people attacked Eusko Tren train station in the Basque town of Lezama.

The bomb went off at around 1.15am on Saturday (2315GMT), outside the Basque court of Tolosa (Guipuzcoa). It had been placed two hours before it exploded by two individuals.

According to the Interior Minister both terrorists left a rucksack containing ten kilos of explosives at 00,15 next to the steps of the court, at San Juan Street in Tolosa. The blast provoked a three-meter hole in the facade and broke all the windows in the five floors of the building.

Besides, 20 vehicles were damaged caused by deflagration a wall placed next to the court building was demolished. The blast also caused material damage in nearby houses, but no injuries were reported.

The bomb went off at around 1.15am on Saturday (2315GMT), outside the Basque court of Tolosa (Guipuzcoa) after a man in the name of ETA phoned and warned the Basque traffic department DYA in Guipuzkoa that a bomb had been placed in the court.

After the warning call, Basque police cordoned off the area and the bomb exploded at the announced time.

Also last night, at 23.20 several hooded people attacked Eusko Tren train station in the Basque town of Lezama and set fire to it.
