Spanish police find ETA hide in La Rioja's Ezcaray

07/24/2008

Police seized a rifle, tools presumably used to steal cars and explosives in the hide close to the Valdezcaray ski station, some sources reported.

Spanish police found an ETA hide overnight in La Rioja's Ezcaray, official sources said on Thursday.

Police seized a rifle, tools presumably used to steal cars and explosives in the hide close to the Valdezcaray ski station, some sources reported.

The discovery of the hide of the armed Basque group follows the arrest of nine suspected members earlier this week, all of them believed to be part of the group's most active cell blamed for a string of bomb attacks and killing a civil guard.

The investigation remains open and police are searching for Jurdan Martutegi, believed to be an ETA member and a second person that had presumably run away from his home address in the Basque town of Getxo.
