Basque police say a bomb blast has damaged a telecommunications transmitter in a rural area and they blame the armed Basque group ETA.
An official with the Basque police says the bomb went off around 2:00 a.m. Friday (0000 GMT) next to a wall protecting a hilltop transmitter in the province of Alava. The official says the facility was unstaffed at the time and no one was hurt.
The official says the bomb weighed between three and five kilograms (7 and 11 pounds).
The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of department rules barring publication of his name.
