The children of rescued hostage Ingrid Betancourt are embracing their mother for the first time in six years.

Betancourt raced to the stairway as the French government plane arrived in Bogota Thursday morning, then threw her arms around her children, Lorenzo and Melanie.

After some private time aboard the plane, the newly-reunited family spoke, holding their arms around one another.

Betancourt spoke of the many dreams she has to share with her children. Lorenzo and Melanie said they were delighted at their mother's release, but also remembered hostages still being held in captivity in Colombia.

Betancourt _ freed in a daring operation Wednesday _ says she will soon fly to France, whose people and government campaigned for her freedom.
