Spain's Interior Ministry says special forces have seized nearly €200 million (US$316 million) worth of cocaine in a high-seas raid on a sailboat.
The ministry says police arrested two people on the boat and five others in the Basque city of Bilbao, and confiscated 1.5 metric tons of cocaine.
A ministry statement released Wednesday says the boat had set sail from the Dominican Republic and was apparently bound for the Basque Country.
The statement did not say when or where the seizure took place. Police were not immediately available for comment.
Spain is one of Europe's main entry points for cocaine smuggled from South America.
