Town council condemns Elgoibar’s attack unanimously

Elgoibar’s town council condemned unanimously Sunday’s attack against the Socialist office of this town and asked the Basque leftist movement to be brave and to forget about the Basque armed group ETA so that peace is achieved.

Representatives of the Basque Nationalist Party PNV, the Basque Socialist Party PSE-EE, the Basque leftist coalition EB-Aralar and the Spanish Popular Party PP passed a motion in which they claim the best answer against the armed group is “to defend the right of Basque citizens, who claim living in peace, without bombs and shots in the nape”.

Apart from the condemnation, they also showed their solidarity with the neighbors affected by the attack and their support with the Basque socialist party PSE-EE and its members.

Spokesmen from all the political parties made an appeal to citizens so that they attend two concentrations to condemn the attack.

The motion has been passed unanimously because the Basque leftist party ANV has no representation in the town council.
