The aim of Carmelo Barrio’s proposal will be to clarify "the financial irregularities" of the museum in Bilbao. Thus, he has warned PNV that it has to assume the lack of control in the museum as its "own fault".

Carmelo Barrio, Basque Conservative Opposition Popular party PP leader, has suggested today the setting-up of an investigation committee in Basque Parliament. Its aim is to clarify "the financial irregularities and anomalies" detected in Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, which "lack of control" has to be assumed as “own fault” by the Basque Nationalist party PNV, since it is the party that presides the autonomic government and the regional Council of Biscay, controlling in 50 percent the Holding society in the Museum.

The proposal to form this investigation committee takes place just a day after Basque Parliament, at the request of Conservative Opposition Popular party PP itself, approved the creation of an investigation committee to analyze the irregularities in the project for the construction of Balenciaga Museum in Getaria (Gipuzkoa).

The forum proposed by PP to clarify the situation created in Guggenheim Museum, which finance director, Roberto Cearsoro was dismissed after allegedly appropriating half million euros.
