DYA in Biscay has received a call saying a bomb would explode at 14,00. Spanish Civil Guard have cordoned off the area and evacuated the headquarters.

A car bomb exploded on Friday at Spanish police station in Calahorra, La Rioja at 14:00. The headquarters have been cleared after the auto-help association DYA in Biscay received a call in the name of ETA warning about a car bomb explosion next to the headquarters. Only one person was hurt, the town's mayor said.

According to sources of the headquarters, which is placed in the centre of the mentioned town, the installations have been cleared. The phone call has been received at 13:28 by DYA in Biscay and warned that a bomb set inside a car would explode at 14:00. They also stated the location of the bomb and the make and colour of the car.

A car bomb exploded on Friday close to a Guardia Civil police station in Calahorra, a town in the Rioja region of northern Spain, Spanish media reported.

The car bomb has exploded at Galarza Street. The media reported no serious injuries but said the bomb warning had disrupted a Holy Week procession and some people, including a policeman, may have been slightly hurt by flying glass. There had been scenes of panic as the area around the police station was crowded with people attending a Holy Week religious procession.

Javier Pagola, mayor of Calahorra in the Rioja region, said a policeman had been slightly hurt by flying glass. "One Guardia Civil has been hurt by glass which entered his home", Pagola told state television. "There is a lot of damage".

The ruling Socialist Party condemned the attack and said ETA "will never impose its objectives by the use of violence".
