When David Nordfors was leaving for Standford (California) from Sweden, he decided to surf the Internet to visit the university's web.

There were only three computers at his town's library from where he could surf the Internet, one of them for adults and the other two for children. He could not use either of them. At that time, the Internet was the future; now, it is the present.

David Nordfors is Senior Research Scholar at Standford's University's Center for Innovations in Learning. In 2003, he founded the concept of "Innovation Journalism" and now, he leads the Innovation Journalism Fellowship Program at Standford, the university from where Silicon valley employs most people.

What is this?

David Nordfors points out that "Innovation Journalism is a combination of business, technology, political and cultural journalism that gives the change to consider innovation from a different viewpoint. It is a new concept and a new common value."

Talking to eitb24.com, Nordfors adds that "for innovation to become a part of society, it is essential that media talks about it".

According to Nordfors, "to innovate is to introduce something new. That introduction needs communication and communication requires a kind of language. Something new need new language to be disseminated. And that is the journalists' task: the media disseminates that new language and make knowledge and debate possible. It is not only to make people interested in innovation but to be the necessary link for the creation of a network, a community of innovators".
