The centre of the storm is now in Iran. Iranian President, Mahmud Ahmadineyad, said clearly Iran will continue with its nuclear programme and the aim of that programme is not to create nuclear weapons, but nobody believes him on this. The North American President Bush repeated once again that it is unacceptable the fact that Iran has nuclear weapons.
But who surprised everybody is the French Sarkozy. While Bush was relatively moderate, Sarkozy insisted again, they have to impose hard punishments to Iran, because if they don’t do that way the only alternative will be the war.
Sarkozy said that France’s position is independent from the position of the United States, but steadily both foreign policies coincide. UN’s Security Council, adopted two resolutions in which they impose political and economic sanctions to Iran. In a short period of time Paris and Washington will present a Security Council of a third sanction resolution and tensions on this will continue increasing.
