Hundreds of PETA activists wearing little more than a red scarf and horns took to the streets of Pamplona/Iruña for the sixth annual Running of the Nudes.
Fun-loving people from around the world converged on the Navarran capital to show the city that it doesn’t need to torture animals for tourism.
The run proceeded along part of the route that will see thrill-seekers dash ahead of a pack of six fighting bulls and six meek steers starting Saturday for eight days.
The protesters shouted slogans against the running of the bulls and against bullfighting in general as they made their way to the gate of Pamplona/Iruña's bullring, where the procession ended.
The "running of the nudes" is convened yearly by the organization PETA - the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals - to condemn the treatment of bulls during the traditional bull fights and running of bulls in Pamplona/Iruña, Navarre.
The Running of the Bulls in an annual 9-day festival held every summer in Pamplona/Iruña. It has been a part of the San Fermin celebrations since the Middle Ages. The bulls that take part in the running are corralled at the bullring and killed in bullfights later in the day.
