PETA activists protest against San Fermin running of the bulls

Male and female protesters, clad only in underwear and fake bullhorns, chanted their message in English and Spanish.

Activists from the group, "People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals," or PETA, gathered in front of the Spanish Embassy in Washington DC Thursday to demand an end to the Running of the Bulls on the streets of Pamplona/Iruña.

Male and female protesters, clad only in underwear and fake bullhorns, chanted their message in English and Spanish.

"We are going to get out here and take our clothes off and show them that you can have just as much fun running through the streets of Pamplona naked and not watching a tortured animal run through the streets," said Mike Brazell, Campaign Organiser for PETA.

"We want the people to see that you have have fun without torturing an animal," he said.

The Running of the Bulls in an annual 9-day festival held every summer in Pamplona/Iruña.
