Was the large, terrifying, lonely ogre and invention of DreamWorks, or did it have a real counterpart?

Judging by the photos, the main character in the blockbuster, Shrek, might have had a human ancestor, even if that link was never revealed by the well-known American film studios.

Judge by yourself, isn't the resemblance shocking?

The man in the picture is Maurice Tillet, a professional wrestler born in France, highly intelligent (he could speak 14 languages and was a poet!), who died in 1954.

Nevertheless, he suffered from a rare illness that causes bones to grow wildly and uncontrollably: acromegaly.

Maybe the peace and solitude Shrek so much longs for in the famous film would have been a dream for Tillet, who soon after his illness developed became a recluse, called names, berated and forced to flee his hometown.
