A Basketball hero celebrated with TV heroes in Hollywood last Friday as EA Sports launched their newest video game NBA LIVE 09. The party was hosted by basketball great, Tony Parker from the San Antonio Spurs.
His wife, Eva Longoria Parker closed down her own restaurant, "Beso" and greeted the nearly 200 invited guests. Right before the festivities got underway, Parker admitted he was already gearing up for the next basketball season. "For me, it's my last time I can party because then I start training camp next week. So, next week already. Finish. Vacation is over, so it's my last party."
The all-star point guard went on to say that since he got hitched last year, he doesn't get to play video games too often and neither does his housewife. Although Longoria Parker says she's not a big fan of video games, she might have to try this one: "I will play this one only because he's on the cover and he looks just so damn handsome in the game."
Showing up to get a preview of the game and the basketball hero, were cast members from the hit TV show "Heroes," a favourite of the B-ball player. Sendhil Ramamurthy, who is from San Antonio, is also a big Spurs fan. "Tony is a fan of the show and came into a set visit and we've been in touch ever since, and decided to come out and support him."
Another castmate - Jimmy Jean-Louis - decided to join the group to honour a fellow Frenchman. "Well, that's the French connection. Tony Parker, Alors-Ne peux pas oblie."
Parker, confessed that being featured in the video game and on the cover of the box made him feel that he really scored in America. "I was in the cover in France, so I thought my agent was joking when he called me and told me I was in the cover in the states. I was like 'really? ' It was the first time for a European, so it was a big honour for me because I've been playing since I'm small with my brothers. And so it was always a dream the NBA."
NBA LIVE 09 will be in stores on October 7, 2008.
