French police arrested at least 14 members related to so-called “Basque leftist” movement around different towns in Northern Basque Country.

Ex spokesman for Batasuna during the last peace process Xabi Larralde, ex spokesman for Askatasuna – Basque prisoners supporting group - Jean Francois Lefort, former Batasuna member Jean Claude Aguerre, Maider Duhalde, Patricia Martino, Haritza Galarraga, Giuliano Cavaterra, Frederic Carricart, Jokin Etxeberria, Mirentxu Laco, Aurore Marti and Ion Irazola were arrested around Baiona, Northern Basque Country, during the daybreak, according to pro-Amnesty movement.

Policemen also tried to arrest Zigor Goieaskoetxea but it was not possible to find him at home. More arrests are expected. According to pro-Amnesty movement, guards searched 13 homes in towns like Baiona/Bayonne, Urruña/Urrugne or Senpere/Saint-Pée.
